CORN FOLIAR NUTRITION BEFORE FLOWERING

As we can observe in the fields, the second oviposition of European corn worm (Ostrinia nubilalis - one of the most harmful corn pests) will start on July 5 - 7. After 10-12 days, the massive regeneration of the larvae will begin. Taking this into account, entomologists recommend to treat corn fields with insecticides. The latter are well combined in a tank mix with special fertilizers, so it is possible to fertilize corn with the necessary elements, depending on the state of the plants.

During this period the main problems of corn nutrition are the following:

The first one is hidden deficiency of boron. Its shortage is manifested in the form of incomplete pollination, which is a consequence of the lack of viability of pollen grains. The problem is easily eliminated by foliar nutrition of plants with special fertilizers ECOLINE Boron (Organic) or ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 0.5 - 1.0 l / ha. Fertilization during this period contributes to the accumulation of sugars - one of the main building materials in the plant.

The second problem is potassium deficiency. You can see it in the form of leaf lightening – first at the edges of leaf blades, later the whole leaf dries down. It is observed initially on the lower leaves, and then extends to the leaves of the subsequent levels - accordingly, the potential of plant productivity is seriously reduced. To stop leaves drying we recommend to apply special fertilizer ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0 - 1.5 l / ha.

The third problem is the hidden deficiency of trace elements and potassium. In this case we recommend using complex fertilizer ECOLINE CORN (Chelates) 1.0 - 2.5 l / ha.
