Faza 3-5 leaf pairs is crucial when plants require both effective weed control and correction of mineral nutrition conditions. Sometimes these operations can be performed using a tank mix of plant protection products and fertilizers, if the manufacturer of the plant protection product does not object to combining it with fertilizers in the tank mix. If it is not possible to combine fertilization with insurance herbicides, it is recommended to apply foliar fertilization 5-7 days after herbicide application.
- The main tasks of the first foliar feeding are as follows:
- Activation and acceleration of plant growth;
- Providing boron nutrition;
- Suppression of disease pathogens (fungistatic effect).
Taking into account the current year's weather conditions, to provide sunflower plants with boron in the 3-5 leaf pair stage, it is recommended to use ECOLINE Boron (Premium) at a dose of 1.0 l/ha. The application of boron in combination with L-alpha-amino acids promotes better boron assimilation and softens the negative effects of various stress factors.
It is also advisable to add GRO-S Phosphite-NP at a rate of 1.5-2.0 l/ha to the tank mix to enhance plant vegetative growth and suppress the development of diseases.
On carbonate heavy-textured soils and in case of moisture deficiency, sunflower plants may show signs of zinc deficiency. In this case, it is advisable to use ECOLINE Phosphite (K-Zn) at a rate of 1.5-2.0 l/ha.
In case of deficiency of other essential nutrients (manganese, iron, molybdenum, etc.) visually detected or based on laboratory analysis results, the corresponding chelated fertilizers of the "ECOORGANIC" company can be used for foliar feeding of sunflower plants.
