The phase of 3-5 pairs of leaves is key when plants need both effective protection against weeds and correction of mineral nutrition conditions.

The main tasks of the first foliar feeding of sunflower are as follows:

  • Activation of plant growth;
  • Provision of boron nutrition;
  • Suppression of pathogens (fungiostatic effect)

Depending on the soil conditions, temperatures, the presence of moisture, the possible manifestation of the after-effect of SZR applied under the predecessor and before sowing, we recommend using the following schemes of foliar fertilization:

  1. To provide sunflower plants with boron in the phase of 3-5 pairs of leaves, we recommend using ECOLINE Boron (Premium) at a dose of 1.0 l/ha. The introduction of boron in combination with L-α-amino acids contributes to better assimilation of boron and mitigation of the negative effects of stress factors of various nature.
  2. On soils with a low level of fertility, with a significant spread of pathogens in the soil, it is advisable to carry out top dressing with a tank mixture of ECOLINE Bor (Premium) 1.0 l/ha + GROS Phosphito-NP 1.0-1.5 l/ha to enhance the vegetative growth of plants and disease prevention.
  3. On carbonate soils with a heavy granulometric composition and with a lack of moisture, sunflower plants may show signs of zinc deficiency. In this case, instead of GROS Phosphito-NP, it is advisable to use ECOLINE Phosphite (K-Zn) in the same dose of 1.0-1.5 l/ha.
  4. In the event of a deficiency of other nutrients (manganese, iron, molybdenum, etc.), established visually or based on the results of laboratory analysis, appropriate chelated fertilizers from the ECOORGANIC company can be used for foliar feeding of sunflower plants
