Foliar nutrition of corn before flowering
At the end of the first decade of July, the second egg-laying of corn borer, one of the most harmful objects of corn, will begin. In 10 - 12 days after that there will be a mass revival of larvae. Due to this, entomologists recommend the treatment of corn crops with insecticides. The latter are well combined in the tank mix with special fertilizers, and therefore it is possible to fertilize the corn with the elements it needs.
During this period, as a rule, there are three main problems in the nutrition of corn:
The first is a latent boron deficiency. Its deficiency is manifested in the form of grains, which is a consequence of insufficient viability of pollen grains. The problem is easily eliminated by foliar fertilization of plants with special fertilizers ECOLINE Boron (Organic) or ECOLINE Boron (Premium) in doses of 0.5 - 1.0 l / ha. Boron fertilization during this period contributes to the accumulation of sugars - one of the main building materials in the plant.
The second problem is potassium deficiency. It is manifested visually first in the form of lightening of the edges of the leaf blade, and then drying of the entire leaf. It is observed first on the lower leaves, later extends to the leaves of subsequent tiers - accordingly, seriously reduces the yield potential of plants. It is possible to stop drying of leaves by means of foliar nutrition with special fertilizer ECOLINE Phosphite (K) in the dose of 1,0 - 1,5 l / hectare.
The third problem is latent micronutrient deficiency and latent potassium deficiency, which leads to reduced yields. To prevent this, we recommend using the complex fertilizer ECOLINE Corn (Chelates) at the dose of 1.0 - 2.5 l / ha.
