Autumn foliar fertilization of winter oilseed rape is required for the formation of a strong root system, accumulation of sugars for successful overwintering and optimization of mineral nutrition conditions at the beginning of the formation of productivity elements, which occurs in autumn. The process of differentiation of generative organs in winter oilseed rape plants takes place in the rosette phase (6-8 leaves) - a balanced mineral nutrition during this period and a longer period of laying the buds at the top of the root collar provide higher productivity. Nutrient deficiency at this time is one of the main reasons for the oilseed rape yield decrease, especially after late sowing.
For successful overwintering, in autumn the plants should be provided with the key elements of mineral nutrition, in particular boron. Acute lack of boron in the autumn leads to negative consequences: deformation and hollowness of the root system, inhibition of its growth and development; insufficient development of leading beams and growth points; reducing the accumulation of sugars and their transportation to the root collar; deterioration of frost and winter hardiness of plants and overwintering in general.
Boron deficiency is most often manifested on soils of light granulometric composition, swampy, acidic, calcareous soils, during periods of severe drought. Based on this, we offer the following options for foliar nutrition of winter oilseed rape with ECOORGANIC fertilizers:
- On the fields with visual manifestations of boron deficiency - ECOLINE Boron (Organic) 1.0 l / ha.
- On the fields with visual manifestations of stress - ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0 l / ha + ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 1.0 l / ha. The combination of boron with amino acids promotes rapid absorption of boron and the accumulation of sugars in the root collar in unstable weather conditions in autumn.
- On soils of light granulometric composition, eroded, where the manifestation of magnesium and boron deficiency is possible - ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 1.0 l / ha + ECOLINE Magnesium (Chelates) 1.0 l / ha + ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0 l /Ha.
- Molybdenum deficiency can occur in the fields with pH below 5.0 - the plants lag behind in growth and development, the leaves are smaller in size. For such areas it is better to use a boron fertilizer ECOLINE Boron (Opti) 1.0 - 1.5 l / ha.
Field trial at Agroprodservice LLC, Ternopil region. K – check (without foliar fertilization), 1 - ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 0.5 l / ha + ECOLINE Boron (Organic) 1.0 l / ha. Results of intermediate check 15.09.2020 (10 days after treatment): weight of 3 plants: K - 75 g, 1 - 160 g; diameter of a root neck: K - 0,5 cm, 1 - 0,7 cm
