Phosphite form of phosphorus was applied in agriculture for the first time more than half a century ago, but today there are still a lot of questions about their usage. In western scientific literature there are a lot of publications about application and efficiency of phosphites which prove their benefits for growth and development of plants, increase of the plants resistance to biotic and abiotic stress factors.


The main ways of phosphite influence on plants are shown at the picture below. Physiologic reactions of plants to phosphite are related to its influence on internal hormonal and chemical changes, metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and others. It helps optimal leaf surface development, chlorophyll content, increase accumulation of sugar, protein and other substances in the yield parts of the plants.

ECOORGANIC, Ukrainian producer of special fertilizers, is present at the market with phosphite fertilizers since 2016. The most effective composition for seed treatment is GROS Rootgrowth. Thoroughly elaborated formulation of the product (nitrogen - 3,0%, phosphorus in the form of phosphite - 5,0%, potassium - 3,0%, free L-α-amino acids - 3,0%, phytohormones: auxins - 20 ppm, citokinines - 2 ppm) and forms of active ingredients strengthen growth energy of the seedling and young plant (amino acids and phosphorus in the form of phosphite), and correlation of auxins and cytokinines intensifies cells division of meristemic tissues. Application of GROS Rootgrowth together with chemical seed treatment provides for simultaneous and uniform seed emergence and further better plant development comparing with untreated check. In agricultural practice, when for diverse reasons the crops are planted later than optimal terms, it can become an important condition of realization of genetic yield potential of both winter and spring crops.

When applied foliarly, phosphites penetrate and circulate in the plant, thus controlling powdery mildew pathogens development. That is why application of phosphite products on winter wheat is effective not only during start of spring vegetation but also at later stages of the plants growth and development.

There are two modes of action of phosphites on the pathogens in a plant:

Direct action: phosphites form pores in pathogen cell causing leakage of cell liquid, thus weakening the pathogen.

Indirect action: phosphites make transcriptional changes in the synthesis of proteins which form cell walls, which causes death of the pathogen.

It is confirmed that with control of funghi development phosphites provide for higher number of root hair growth and improve plants rooting.

During the plants vegetation phosphites increase flowering process and number of grains in an ear which results in the yield increase. Application of phosphites combined with L-α-amino acids provides antistress action.

Only phosphite form of phosphorus in the highest concentrations, products containing microelements and biologically active substances, excellent tank mixing with crop protection products and improvement of the latter efficacy due to buffer properties, reasonable prices – these are the characteristics which distinguish ECOORGANIC fertilizers at the Ukrainian market.
