Recommendations for winter oilseed rape growing, in September 2022
Winter oilseed rape is a profitable crop, and therefore, despite certain difficulties in cultivation,it does not lose its position in the agriculture of our country.
Autumn is a particularly important period, as the plants are preparing to lay the elements of the productivity of the future harvest and to successfully overwinter. On the way to solving these problems, there are several main problems: protecting plants from damage by pests and diseases, providing boron and growth regulation.
Monitoring of winter oilseed rape fields at the beginning of September showed that at this time there is a real danger of damage of seedlings by pests. Among the most dangerous are Lepidoptera (gnawing scoops, cabbage moth, cabbage whitefly, rape sawfly), as well as Coleoptera (cruciferous fleas, bugs, and Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus, which inhabits crops from the fall and causes damage already in the spring).
Insecticide protection of winter oilseed rape, in our opinion, should be combined with foliar fertilization with “ECOORGANIC” fertilizers. For the first nutrition we recommend to apply ECOLINE Boron (Organic) in a dose of 0.5 - 1.0 l/ha to provide the plants with boron.
In view of the sudden change in weather and temperature drop, to improve phosphorus nutrition, it is mandatory to feed crops with ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0 l/ha. Such an measure will normalize the pH of the tank solution within 6.0 - 6.5, improve the growth of the root system and provide a fungistatic effect for young oilseed rape plants.
